Preface

In the 19th century, the whole world was enveloped in the darkness of ignorance (avidyā, ajñāna). Surrounded by an atmosphere of inequality, hatred & with no sign of positive & true knowledge of God, a noble soul appeared in the body of a child named Mool Shankar born in a traditional & superstitious family on the land of Tankārā, Gujarat. Even as a child, Mool Shankar was not ready to accept things which were not based on reasoning.

Hence rejecting all comforts & worldly temptations, Mool Shankar, later known as Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati, succeeded in finding & establishing the Truth, pure Truth based on Vedas, emphasising the principle; ‘सत्य के ग्रहण करने और असत्य के छोड़ने में सर्वदा उद्यत रहना चाहिये।

It means that one should always be ready to accept truth and discard the untruth.’ & thus completely devoted for the purpose. Although facing strong opposition, in a short span of nine years, he succeeded in establishing the Truth through discourses, debates & penned down unique Scriptures which stand class apart. And all these find a mention in the book named ‘Maharshi Dayananda Grantha Paricaya’, written by sister Kanchan.

Here in VyavahāraBhānu, the Rși Dayananda has prescribed different types of conduct for different types of people under different situations & different times. And he has certified it all with the help of examples.

Sister Kanchan has presented it all in this book VyavahāraBhānu Praśnottarī, in simple question-answer form & this is highly appreciable. This book would help people to create a healthy atmosphere of love & noble conduct not only for themselves but be a source of inspiration for others. Those who want to contribute to the happiness of the world, should help spread this message to the masses through this book. I extend my best wishes to sister Kanchan & the readers for the same.
